Arlington Economic Development

Arlington Economic Development (AED), a department of Arlington County Government, is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of an economically competitive and sustainable community, and the creation of exciting, diverse and amenity-rich places. AED provides visionary leadership and superior services to Arlington’s business community, its tourism industry and its real estate development. AED is comprised of the Business Investment Group and the Real Estate Development Group, as well as Arlington Cultural Affairs and Arlington Convention & Visitor Services.

Arlington Thrive

Arlington Thrive is the only organization in Arlington County, Virginia that provides same-day, emergency financial assistance to County residents who experience sudden financial crisis such as temporary unemployment or illness.

A-SPAN

A-SPAN strives to end homelessness in Arlington through housing, supportive services, shelter, and street services.

Bridges to Independence

Bridges to Independence leads individuals and families out of homelessness and into stable and independent futures. Since 1985, Bridges has helped about 40,000 people in our local community. Current programming includes operating Arlington County's largest emergency family shelter and offering services in housing, workforce development, financial empowerment, and youth development.

Arlington Free Clinic

The Arlington Free Clinic provides free, high-quality healthcare to low-income, uninsured Arlington County adults through the generosity of donors and volunteers.

Doorways for Women & Children

Since 1978, Doorways has given thousands of people in our community a pathway out of violence and homelessness and empowered them to create brighter futures. They offer crisis intervention, housing and employment support, and multiple options and pathways.

The Arlington Community Foundation

The Arlington Community Foundation is the local home for individuals, businesses and organizations in Arlington to carry out their charitable giving. The Foundation's general funds - supported by contributions from community members - improve and strengthen the community in and around Arlington through grants made to local nonprofit organizations and scholarships awarded to local students.

Volunteer Arlington

Volunteer Arlington connects individuals, groups, nonprofits and businesses in an effort to promote volunteerism. It is the connection hub that links volunteers both as individuals and groups to organizations in need of support.

AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Center)

The Arlington Food Assistance Center is dedicated to its simple but critical mission of obtaining and distributing groceries, directly and free of charge, to people living in Arlington, VA, who cannot afford to purchase enough food to meet their basic needs.

AWLA (Animal Welfare League of Arlington)

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington provides animal adoption and community programs, as well as animal rescue and control services within Arlington County.
